When we hear the word “story” the one person who comes to our mind is Grandma. She is the master story teller.
One day Akbar was simply chatting with his friends. He had around him the very best, wisest, most creative people chosen from every part of the country. They were speaking, Akbar all of the sudden slapped Birbal for no apparent reason. Now one cannot slap the Emperor back, but Birbal was a clever man .So Birbal slapped the person who was standing right next to him.
Everybody thought, “This is strange!”There was no reason in the first place for Akbar’s slap. Suddenly, as if some madness had seized Akbar, he has slapped poor Birbal. And the victim also reacted strangely. Rather than asking, “Why have you slapped me?” he simply slapped the man by his side! and that man, thinking perhaps this was the norm at the Court, slapped the next person. In a chain reaction, the slap went all around the Court.
That night, Akbar’s wife slapped him! and he asked, “Why are you slapping me?”
She said,” What a question – a Game is a Game.”He asked, “Who told you that this is a game?” She said ,”We have been hearing the whole day long that a great game has begun in the Court. The only rule is that you cannot hit the person back, you have to find somebody else to slap. And somebody has slapped me, so I slapped you. I think your slap has come back to you. The game is now complete!”
Moral of this story: Make sure you start something which you want to receive. The world is big, it takes time to return. But everything comes back to its source – it is one of the fundamental rules of life.
Starting a good BIG game is awesome…listening a little short story is …a littleBIGthing 🙂
Human design is made to face problems/challenges and if there are none we make sure to create a few. Yes this game of kicking or hitting the balloon with hand and then not letting it touch the ground is one such self made challenge. It normally starts after someone’s birthday where we get a lots of balloons or when one comes from a fair balloons comes in along with kids. The rules for the game are not set, they get established without any announcement or efforts. The material required is also too cheap and very less, just a balloon. Number of players is not a constrain as even a single person can play this. If there are more, the merrier it is. This game starts the moment someone kicks or hits a balloon in air. Then someone else puts his leg and ensures it not touches the ground. As the time of balloon in air increases the challenge and passion towards the game increases. Now nobody want to let the balloon go down, people jump and dive to ensure it not reaches the ground. Life is just like this game of balloon, it engages and involves you in the rules created by you yourself. If you keep hitting back facing all challenges you enjoy the game, but what if you miss it? NOTHING happens the balloon simply hits the ground and you just have to start playing the game again.
After a long journey of this balloon in air when someone hits the balloon so hard that it moves out of range of all those who are playing and goes towards the door. Everyone is upset that now the balloon will hit the ground as nobody is there to save it. At that very moment you just come into the room opening the door. Not by plan but by your instinct you just kick the balloon when it was about to hit the floor. Fabulous …this indeed is a littleBIGthing 🙂
Everyone of us is in a Journey. It can be a journey towards our dreams or it can be the journey of life. Every journey has a start and a destination. Most of the time we are concerned and focused more towards reaching the destination. With this obsession to reach the destination comes the passion for pace. Speed becomes more important than direction. We get so busy looking at the speedometer that we forget the milestone. But if we look closely towards our life we realize that real fun and excitement lies in the milestones of our journey. Destination is something which is important and will come some day but milestones gives us happiness in this moment. It gives us the satisfaction of the process and the journey. Imagine you just closing your eyes abracadabra and you are in your holiday location. Will you really enjoy doing it, missing the fun and excitement of the journey of traveling through the milestones? Absolutely not. The fun of looking those milestones on the road which not just tell you about your distance from the destination but more importantly it ensure that you are in the right direction. Speed in wrong direction will take you to a wrong place faster. The real fun is the fun of touching, reaching and feeling every milestone of our life. A milestone can be you learning swimming, your first love, you complete reading a book, preparing a new recipe, admission in school for your child, enjoying dinner with your parents, making friendship with a stranger. It can be anything and everything which tell you that you are on the right path, the path YOU chose to travel.
